An original way to begin your holiday - learn a few basic Italian language skills in a fun and informal environment with a professional language teacher - while visiting Città della Pieve, close to Lake Trasimeno in nearby Umbria. The town, perched high up on a hilltop, is home to some of Umbria's finest examples of art and architecture (it is the birthplace of the wellknown artist "Il Perugino") and offers fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.
10.00 - 11.00 am Lesson 1:
"IL BAR" - No matter how small a village in Italy, it is unlikely that you will not find at least one "bar" (café) serving Espresso, cappuccino and a croissant. During this first hour, your Italian teacher will teach you the basics to cope successfully once you reach the coffee counter!
11.00 - 11.30 Coffee Break at the bar!
And now that you've learned how to order your continental breakfast in Italian, pop into the bar next door and put your new language skills into practise!
11.30 - 12.30 am Lesson 2:
AT THE RESTAURANT - Since wine, food and dining out will most probably play an important role during your holiday, your teacher will reveal the secrets that lie behind what may seem like baffling terms used in most restaurant menus.
1 pm - 2.30 pm - Lunch at a Trattoria At this point you will have learned to order your own food and ask for the check on your own - put the waiters/waitresses to the test as you choose your lunch menu!
n.b. Lessons are held in a historic building along Città della Pieve's main street, Via Garibaldi. Your teacher will be with from 10 am-2.30 pm, including time spent at the bar and restaurant.
